Ivorian football icon Didier Drogba has sent an inspirational message to Manchester United loaneeAmad Diallo on Instagram after he won the Scottish Cup with Rangers. Diallo is on loan at Scottish Premiership club Rangers from Manchester United having joined them in January.
Amadshared a post on his Instagram account about the disappointment of losing a second straight Europa League final and the joy of winning the Scottish Cup final a few days on the back of the defeat in the Europa League final. He shared twopictures in the post namely the one showing his losers’ medal in the Europa League final in Seville and the one where he was celebrating the Scottish Cup final win. In his response to the post, Didier Drogbatold Amadto keep his head up and trust God. The Chelsea legend then added that the future is yours as he referred to the Manchester United loanee.
Ivorian international Amad was part of the Manchester United squad beaten on penalties in the Europa League final last season. He was an unused substitute during the game which was won by Villarreal after shot stopper David De Gea missed the crucial spot kick. The two teams had scored one goal each at the end of extra time.
Amad made it two successive Europa League final defeat as an unused substitute as Welsh international Aaron Ramsey missed the crucial penalty to hand Eintracht Frankfurt the title after the two teams had played 1-1 in 120 minutes. German team Frankfurt won the competition for the first time as a result of their penalty shootout win over Rangers.
Manchester United loaneeAmad won the first trophy of his career by winning the Scottish Cup via the 2-0 victory over Hearts. He played 63 minutes of the Scottish Cup final. Amad would be hoping to emulate Didier Drogba who won several trophies during his career.
