Didier Drogba could not hide his joy and delight after Chelsea showed their supremacy over London rivals Arsenal when the two teams met at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening. Didier Drogba lauded the performance of his former club who were able to maintain their perfect record in the Premier League this season with a well deserved victory at the expense of the Gunners.

New Chelsea signing RomeluLukaku was a thorn in the Arsenal as he terrorised their defence and was involved in the two goals that gave the Blues a 2-0 away win over the Gunners. Lukaku scored the first goal and he had a hand

in the second goal scored by Reece James off the assist from fellow England international Mason Mount.

The performance from Lukaku during the Arsenal was like a throwback of the way Didier Drogba tore the Gunners defence into shreds during his playing days. Drogba was always a major problem for the Arsenal defence irrespective of the personnel. The Ivorian football icon had a very good scoring record. He had an attacking return of 10 goals plus four assists in 15 games against Arsenal in all competitions.

Chelsea might have found a new Didier Drogba with RomeluLukaku who returned to the club in a record deal this summer. The Blues paid around £97.5m to make him their most expensive signing. He returned to Stamford Bridge eight years after leaving the club. Lukaku showed against Arsenal that he has matured in comparison from his last Premier League appearance in the colours of Manchester United. The Belgian international moved from Manchester United to Inter Milan two years.

Lukaku was first compared to Drogba when he moved to the Premier League from Anderlecht in his native Belgium. He’s finally showing the qualified that drew comparison with Drogba in the Premier League.
